Campaign Story

As a yearbook photographer, there aren’t many times in my high school career where I have ever been up and in front of the camera. In reality, it’s always felt more comfortable to be the one clicking the button than to be the one under the lights. However, as time has gone on, I’ve grown to realize that being able to speak publically and be in that spot is just as important as any other part of journalism – and quite honestly, I’ve been neglecting it. That is why, this year at MIPA Camp, I will be participating in the Broadcast News course for more experience in interviews, newscasting, and many other aspects of visual media. Helping fund for my Broadcasting Workshop would help me learn many aspects of becoming media trained and would ultimately help me become much more secure in any (and all) of my future work in journalism.
