Unfortunately, we receive more applications for scholarships than we are actually able to award. We typically make scholarship decisions in early June, and we’ll let you know as soon as that decision has been made.
But there’s a step you can take right now to help you pay for your MIPA Summer Journalism Workshop registration.
Individual students, advisers and journalism programs can create a MIPA SponsorMe campaign to raise money to attend the MIPA Summer Journalism Workshop. All funds raised are paid to the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We provide this platform for free to our students, and we absorb all transaction costs. Every dollar you raise will go toward your workshop registration.
We sometimes even have some matching dollars to help you get started.
Please note: Funds not used by students to attend the next upcoming summer workshop are transferred to MIPA’s general workshop scholarship fund to help other students in need.
Once your campaign is posted on SponsorMe, start to tell your friends, family, neighbors and others about it! Use social media to raise awareness about your campaign. The more people you can tell about your SponsorMe campaign, the more likely you are to meet your fundraising goal!
